New York Fashion Week dedicated to women’s collections for next autumn/winter ended yesterday.

As for the previous days, these latest collections were characterized by the magnificent evening dresses (Marc Jacobs and Marchesa) and cocktail dresses (Boss and Anna Sui) and for the return of the coat cult of the season (Calvin Klein and Del Pozo in particular) as well as for the great sensuality, sometimes extreme, transmitted through the clothes.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler driving, for example, presented a collection with a strong aesthetic impact because for the first time in the history of the brand, style hyped, androgynous woman met their sexuality: people dress to be charismatic and show who they are, but also to please others. This seems to be the message conveyed by the duo McCollough-Hernandez.

Hyper sexy are even the “dolls” from Jeremy Scott that in wanting to be naive and joyful, turn into party-girl of excellence. Basically what is fashion if not fun?

In the same line of thought is that of Anna Sui, in a super refined way, pays homage to Scandinavia and the Vikings. On the catwalk is Viking style, with models who are modern, colorful and beautiful, enjoying their youth.

Not all fashion is fun. For others it means work, practicality, and reality.

To confirm this idea, there are Boss and Ralph Lauren. The first, under the guidance of Jason Wu, presents a collection that pays homage to the beauty industry: perfect manager in catwalk clothes, dry cuts but soft silhouette. The second, however, pays homage to the Far West with details and prints reminiscent of the Navajo. All this, however, in a practical vision and underground, as is the custom of Ralph Lauren.

Finally, the return of the coat cult of the season. That both architectural and colorful as that of Del Pozo or hidden by the simplicity and straightforwardness, as for the urban woman, the Calvin Klein coat must protect, but also warmly seduce and show who we are or, rather, who we will be.
