Fino al 2 giugno 2015 sono in esposizione alla Basilica Palladiana di Vicenza 113 opere di maestri della pittura dal Quattrocento al Novecento.
E’ la notte il tema conduttore dei pezzi che arrivano da trenta musei e collezioni di tutto il mondo.
Dal Museum of Fine Art di Boston provengono alcuni reperti egizi, per la prima volta in Italia, mentre di Giorgione, Caravaggio, Tiziano, Tintoretto, El Greco, Poussin si può ammirare la meraviglia di alcune rappresentazioni notturne.
Sono messi a confronto i dipinti di contenuto religioso di Rembrandt e le immagini delle Carceri di Piranesi.
Turner, Friedrich, Corot, Millet, gli americani Church, Homer, Whistler, i grandi Monet, Pisarro, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Klee, Hopper e Kiefer sono presenti con i loro paesaggi, mentre l’astrattismo americano è rappresentato da Morris Louis, Noland e Rothko.
La conclusione della mostra è una sintesi di tutte le opere presenti tra cui Gauguin, Cézanne, Caravaggio e Van Gogh.

Until June 2, 2015, 113 works by masters of painting from the fifteenth to the twentieth century will be on display at the Palladian Basilica.
The theme is the night and the paintings come from thirty museums and collections around the world.
From the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, several Egyptian objects will be in Italy for the first time, while you can enjoy nightly performances from the wondrous Giorgione, Caravaggio, Titian, Tintoretto, El Greco, or Poussin.
The paintings of Rembrandt and religious content of the images of the Prisons of Piranesi will be compared.
Turner, Friedrich, Corot, Millet, the American Church, Homer, Whistler, the great Monet, Pissarro, VanGogh, Mondrian, Klee, Hopper, and Kiefer will be present with their landscapes, while the abstract American will be represented by Morris Louis, Noland, and Rothko.
The conclusion of the exhibition is a summary of all the works including Gauguin, Cezanne, Caravaggio, and Van Gogh.
