The exhibition dedicated to men’s fashion in Florence ended with over 3 thousand appearances more than last year and 18% more buyers. Data, in line with the research conducted by Sistema Moda Italia, would show signs of an economic recovery. Among the sectors that would benefit from this economic increase would also be men’s fashion.

The SMI: It is known that according to surveys about Italian men’s fashion (knitwear, shirts, ties and leather) and on the basis of the economic situation of the macroeconomic environment, 2014 should be archived in slight growth. “The revenue from the SMI-telling experiences an increase of 1.2%, reaching a total of 8.6 billion euro.”

However, the value of Italian production would seem to fall back, and have recorded a decline of 2%, even in the face of a significant rebound in imports.

Also according to Sistema Moda Italy, in 2014, most of the boost to the domestic market in men’s fashion is actually due to the foreign market, particularly outside Europe. On an annual basis, SMI provides an increase in exports of 5.1%, while imports should grow by 8.8%, thus experiencing a strong recovery.

As for the active commercial sector, is it expected instead to show a slight decrease, which will shift the balance to just over 1.8 billion.
